August 2010 Guidance Counselor Board Passers

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 108 out of 180 passed the Guidance Counselor Licensure Examination given by the Board of Guidance and Counseling in Manila last August 2010.

A total of 13 applicants were approved for registration without examination as Guidance Counselors in accordance with the provisions of R.A. No. 8981, cited as the “PRC Modernization Act of 2004”, Section 14, Article III of Republic Act No. 9258, known as the “Guidance and Counseling Act of 2004”, and Section 14, Rule III of Resolution No. 02, Series of 2007, known as the “Rules and Regulations of the Guidance and Counseling Act of 2004”, and per Board Resolution No. 05 dated September 1, 2010, Series of 2010.

The members of the Board of Guidance and Counseling are Dr. Luzviminda S. Guzman, Chairman; Dr. Elena V. Morada and Dr. Carmelita P. Pabiton , Members.

The results were released in two (2) working days from the last day of examination.

Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration will start on Monday, September 6, 2010 but not later than September 17, 2010.

Those who will register are required to bring the following:
* duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal,
* current Community Tax Certificate (cedula),
* 2 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag),
* 1 piece 1” x 1” picture (colored with white background and complete nametag),
* 2 sets of metered documentary stamps,
* and 1 short brown envelope with name and profession;
* and to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2010-2013.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

The oathtaking ceremony of the successful examinees in the said examination as well as the previous ones who have not taken their Oath of Professional will be held before the Board on Sunday, October 3, 2010, at 1:00 o’clock in the afternoon, at the Centennial Hall, Manila Hotel, One Rizal Park, Manila.

Registration for membership with the Philippine Guidance and Counseling Association, Inc. (PGCA) will also start on Monday, September 6, 2010.
